It is very difficult for me to give a 5.I look for something, anything, so I can give it a 4. (Un)Fortunately :) I can't find a single thing wrong with this.
The illustrations are bright, colorful, original in a unique style and not only illustrate the words, but gives so much detail that one can just look at the pictures for their own sake.
Usually the poetry is what causes me to give 4s and sometimes less. In this, however, Michael Yu has done a fantastic job. In both the story the poem tells and the rhyme and rhythm of the poetry. Normally, I prefer children's books that use poetry as a means, to have the poetry be consistent in each verse, as to number of syllables per line. HOWEVER, in this book the slight change in rhythm from verse to verse works to enhance the pace of the story.
The story itself is very simple, a young boy is trying to go to sleep and all of the ambient noises are keeping him awake, until finally everything becomes quiet and then.....
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS STORY

It was perfect. The pictures were vibrant and colorful and it was not hard for my four year old to follow.
I love this soft, gentle story about struggling to go to sleep. Very nice pictures that have lots of detail and interest for kids and adults.
This is a great book for bedtime! I read it to my grandson and it calms him right down and he pretty much goes to sleep right after reading it. Pictures are fun.
I choosed this product because it is hard to make my child go to bed. But this book can help this problem.
And illustrations are so beautiful! I would buy more books with such illustrations.
Will recommend to all parents!
Michael Yu is quickly a favorite of mine for children's books. They are affordable, well written and illustrated with colorful pictures that keep the girls interested.
A clever little story based on a common problem for many children when the skies turn dark and the stars come out to play. It can be a problem trying to put children to sleep when the house creaks, branches scratch the house, owls hoot, and etc. A special story with colorful illustrations all kids can relate to the little boy's trouble with going to sleep at night. It does create a soothing atmosphere for curious little tykes who are wide eyed. This was an exceptional book to read showing how noises sometimes can work in our favor while others are a problem. The little rhymes with object presented fit will with the stories main focus which is what many parents and their children will enjoy reading. The book makes use all agree falling asleep it not always an easy tasks when the day is gone and night comes.
